According to the singer who won this year’s inaugural Best African Performance Grammy for her sensual smash “Water,” she decided to canel her tour due to an unspecified injury.

Making the announcement on Thursday, March 7, Tyla took to Instagram to share heartbreaking news with her fans. She revealed that she has been silently battling an injury for the past year, which has unfortunately worsened over time despite seeking medical help.

In light of the severity of her condition and the increasing agony she’s experiencing, Tyla made the difficult decision to cancel her upcoming tour.

Expressing her deep sadness over the situation, Tyla explained that her priority is her long-term health and safety. Consulting with medical professionals made it clear that continuing with any festival or tour dates would pose a risk to her well-being.

Tyla had previously scheduled shows in Canada, including appearances in Vancouver and Toronto, as well as a slot at Coachella.

Despite this setback, she assured fans that she is working tirelessly to deliver an unforgettable performance and is aiming to return to the stage by this summer. There’s hope that she may still be able to perform at Osheaga in August.

“My Tygers,

“All of you know that this moment you have all helped me transform into a reality, has been a life-long dream. I am so grateful and humbled by this past year and the way it’s changed my life.

“I can never thank you guys enough for all your loving support, all the joy, the laughter, and the wins!

“As much as this is something I would rather have dealt with privately, Its important that I share what I have to share with you today. For the past year I’ve been silently suffering with an injury that has tragically worsened. I’ve seen doctors and specialists with high hopes but the pain has only become more agonizing as has the severity of the situation.

“I am absolutely heartbroken to have to say this but as of right now I won’t be able to proceed with the tour.

“In consulting with medical professionals it’s become increasingly clear that continuing any festival or tour dates would jeopardize my long-term health and safety.

“Words cannot describe my frustration at this pivotal point in my career. So please know that my team and I are working diligently on a spectacular show for you as soon as I am recovered and ready to return safely onstage this summer.
