In a surprising announcement, professional dancer Witney Carson, 29, has decided not to return to the dance floor for the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars.
Following in the footsteps of her longtime friend and co-star Lindsay Arnold, Witney cited her two young children as the primary reason behind her decision to take a hiatus from the show.
In a heartfelt video shared on TikTok, Witney revealed the thought process behind her choice. “This was not a decision that we took lightly,” she expressed.
“We definitely thought and prayed about it for a while, but we will not be doing Dancing With the Stars this season. As much as that pains me to say, I just felt very at peace with it.”
Witney and her husband, Carson McAllister, are parents to two little ones. Witney further explained, “You guys know that family is the most important thing to me, and we just really felt that moving our entire family across the country right now was not for us.
Leo’s at an age where he needs consistency and dependability, and he hasn’t had that ever since he’s been born. We’re just really trying to give him that right now.”
While Witney won’t be gracing the dance floor for the upcoming season, she left room for the possibility of a return in the future. “I love dance, that is my passion, so this was definitely a hard decision,” she said.
“But I will be rooting for everybody on the show, I cannot wait to watch. I’m so excited. I definitely think this is just a break. I hope it’s not goodbye. But for now, we will be their No. 1 cheerleader watching. Love you guys.”
Witney’s decision to prioritize her family resonates with many working parents, highlighting the challenges of balancing career commitments with the needs of their children.
While fans will miss her dazzling performances, they stand by her choice and eagerly await her potential return to the dance floor in the future.
