Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson has recounted how she rejected the proposal made by an undisclosed man. The Ghanaian actress stated that she was proposed to on her birthday by a man she was dating, yet she later returned the ring. This, according to the mother of one, transpired a few years ago.

“On my 30th birthday, I had a ring and I returned it. So, it is not a do or die. Marriage is not something I want to go in and leave. Someone proposed to me, I was dating,” she said in an interview on Angel FM.

Yvonne emphasized that she wasn’t ready for the commitment. She continued, saying, it was also because she didn’t want to deceive anyone. “If you want to marry someone who is well-versed in society, it should be someone you truly want to spend the rest of your life with, you know there’s no going back” the actress added.

She then went further to explain that one of the primary reasons why she is taking her time to find a family-oriented partner is because of her late father’s absence in her life.

“I look out for one thing, does the person want a family? Do they care about kids? Will he love and take care of his children? Will they be in the life of their kids? If I can get that, love is not really the thing for me. So far as he will be in the life of his kid and cater for that child, fine, because I didn’t have that so I want that for my kids,” she added.

The actress, who will premiere her new film The Men We Love on February 14th, has not revealed the identity of the man who proposed to her.
