In a tragic turn of events, the lifeless body of 16-year-old Machaka Radebe was discovered in an open field in Bloemspruit, Free State, just two days after she was reported missing.
The grim revelation came early on Monday morning, December 4, 2023, with Machaka’s body bearing a stab wound.
Machaka was last seen by her brother on Saturday afternoon, December 2. The family’s concern grew when her brother, upon waking up, found her missing from her bedroom.

A chilling twist unfolded as the brother attempted to contact Machaka, only to have an unknown male answer her phone, demanding cash with the ominous threat of harm to his sister.

Sergeant Mahlomola Kareli, the police spokesperson, confirmed the distressing details in a statement. The family promptly reported the situation to the Kagisanong police station, initiating a kidnapping case.
As investigations into Machaka’s murder unfold, the police are urging anyone with information to contact Colonel Bolsiek at 082 466 8530.
