An encouraging man from Bonsukrom in the Ahanta West Municipality related how a soldier obstructed his efforts to save more victims from a helicopter crash involving Ghanaian Armed Forces (GAF) troops.

The man who asked not to be named described watching from a distance as a helicopter suddenly landed in his neighborhood with its front end pointed down.

He thought it was because the brakes had failed.

An emergency landing was carried out in an attempt to limit damage, which led to injuries to all on board.

The man stopped by a military while attempting to save others, yet he was able to save nine people.

He voiced concern that he might have been unfairly blamed if the soldier had died.

“I saw the helicopter come to a sudden stop, which suggested that the brakes may have failed.” The man recounted, “I saved nine people, but I couldn’t help the tenth, even though he was in serious condition.
