A few days after his nearly fatal vehicle accident, highlife musician Kuami Eugene released a new song titled “Canopy.”

His Range Rover collided with a tipper truck at CP, near the DSTV office, heading towards the Dzowulu traffic light in Accra, causing the disaster.

He suffered injuries to his leg, hip, and lips in addition to breaking his arm. “Canopy,” which strays from the typical themes frequently heard in popular music, presents a novel perspective on conquering obstacles.

The song’s opening soundscape is full of vibrant instrumentation, appealing rhythms, and the distinctive voice of the Lynx Entertainment signee. Deepness and intricacy are added by ambient synths and silky guitar riffs, all set against a solid base of a traditional beat.

Kuami Eugene, whose real name is Eugene Kwame Marfo, uses vivid visuals and expressive lyrics to create a personal and relevant experience.

Potential Song of the Year candidate “Canopy” is anticipated to cross boundaries and become a public domain hit similar to firestorm.
