The Adamawa State Police Command has successfully apprehended a 31-year-old man, Abubakar Tasi’u Tanimu, with a cache of stolen items, including 13 ATM cards, one national identity card, and a wallet containing crucial documents.
The arrest was made by police operatives attached to the Department of State Intelligence during a surveillance patrol around Jambutu Motor Park, Jimeta, Yola, on Friday, December 29, 2023.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the stolen ATM cards belonged to authentic owners from various banks and were traced back to a market in Mayo-Belwa, a local government area in the southern part of Adamawa State.

Investigation revealed that the suspect pilfered these items from Tsohon Kasuwa in Mayo Belwa Local Government Area, intending to sell them at a shopping complex.
Nguroje assured the public that the investigation is ongoing, and upon its completion, the suspect, Abubakar Tasi’u Tanimu, will be charged in court.
This successful operation highlights the commitment of the Adamawa State Police Command to curb criminal activities in the region and protect the residents from identity theft and financial crimes.
