Sadio Mané, a former Liverpool forward, is facing a significant decision after getting into a heated altercation with his Bayern Munich teammate, Leroy Sané, in the away dressing room following the team’s defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday.
According to Sky Sports, Sané was left with a bleeding lip after the incident, which required intervention from their teammates to separate the two players. The argument had started on the pitch during the latter stages of the match, which City won 3-0.
Consequently, Bayern Munich has suspended Mané, and he will be fined, as well as excluded from the squad for their upcoming Bundesliga home game against Hoffenheim on Saturday.
A statement from Bayern Munich read:”Sadio Mane, 31, will not be in the FC Bayern squad for the home game against 1899 Hoffenheim next Saturday.”
“The reason is Mane’s misconduct after FC Bayern’s Champions League game at Manchester City. In addition, Mane will receive a fine.”
On Wednesday, officials from Bayern Munich convened to deliberate on potential penalties for Sadio Mané. As per Sky Sports, various punishments were discussed, including imposing a fine, suspension, or even terminating the player’s contract at the end of the season.
