Blue Economy: Bawumia emphasizes actions made to stop ocean deterioration

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Monday November 6 tended to the third Biennial Gathering on Fisheries and Waterfront Climate.

The occasion was coordinated in Accra by the Middle for Beachfront Administration – Africa Focus of Greatness in Waterfront Strength (CCM-ACECoR) of the College of Cape Coast and upheld by the World Bank, WACA, USAID, among others.

In examining the Blue Economy in Ghana, Dr Bawumia talked about the colossal advantages from the sea to the nation, including fishing and the travel industry and occupations, and how these additions are undermined by debasement of Ghana’s beach front scene.

To check the debasement of the sea, he highlighted various approaches and mediations the government is carrying out.

These remember a $150 million speculation for the West Africa Beach front Region (WACA) to stem the tide of waterfront debasement, thebattle against unlawful, unreported and unregulated fishing in our waters, as well as severe guideline and authorizing of unfamiliar fishing vessels,” he said
