In a heartbreaking tragedy, two toddler sisters were killed in a suspected DUI hit-and-run crash in Rialto, California, on November 24.
Authorities have charged 28-year-old Alexis Garcia with two counts of murder following the fatal incident.
According to police, Garcia was driving a Dodge Ram pickup truck when he ran a red light at the intersection of Riverside and Walnut avenues around 11 p.m.

The truck struck a Honda carrying the two young girls, Neveah, 4, and Alinah, 3, and their parents. The impact sent the family vehicle crashing into a tow truck.
Tragically, both girls, who were strapped into their car seats, were pronounced dead at the scene. One of the girls was ejected from the car during the crash.

The girls’ parents, Marky Flores and Valencia Avilez, identified their daughters as their “beloved angels” in a GoFundMe page set up to cover funeral and medical expenses.
Marky, who suffered a broken femur in the crash, required surgery and will be unable to work until fully healed.
The family has already raised nearly $28,000 of their goal to cover these costs.
The driver fled the scene but was apprehended later. Police allege that Garcia was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of murder. It is unclear whether he has entered a plea or retained an attorney.
The family’s loss has left the community in mourning, with their GoFundMe page serving as an outlet for those wishing to support the grieving family.
